Portishead [Live] - Roseland, New York (DVD, 2002)
Recorded at New York’s Roseland Ballroom in mid-1997 with a 28-piece orchestra, this was Portishead’s one-and-only concert film release at the time, capturing the transition from their debut Dummy into their self-titled second album.
This show was very important, it was the first time many heard their upcoming material live before Portishead (1997) had fully landed. It preceded the world tour and reinforced their influence over how electronic music could draw from film scores, jazz, soul, British melancholia.
